All About Me
My Background
My name is Miranda Arapakis, I am a full spectrum Doula certified as a Birth Doula and Breastfeeding Counselor with DONA and is continuing my training as a Postpartum Doula with CAPPA. I have supported families throughout their pregnancies, births and breastfeeding journeys for the past 10 years. My very first client was my best friend who asked me to support and guide her throughout the birth of her first born daughter in 2013. My passion is to serve, to help, guide, be that one to comfort in need, to encourage, to push those past their goals, to be that one person as a Doula and friend in their lives that won’t let them give up.
Our emotions link directly to our physical being. A peaceful mind is a peaceful body and so a peaceful birth. My support style is to coach and guide you every second of the way, keeping you in your rhythm. No matter the distractions, disturbances, the contraction that may take you off course, I will coach you and keep you focused and relaxed throughout your entire birth experience. The gentle flow through water is the way my words are heard. I describe the art of relaxation as being as simple as letting go. Trust yourself, the ones surrounding you with the knowledge of this art, the ones supporting you, baby and partner.
Every birthing situation is unique and it is my goal to guide and support you and your family towards a positive and beautiful birthing experience. Your birthing story will be yours for a lifetime. There have been numerous encounters where even those with their mind at a loss with age can tell their birth story as it was yesterday, remembering every detail, every name of those that had a positive impact on their birth. My vow is to support you with knowledge needed to take away fear, comfort and guide you and baby through one of the greatest challenges of your lives during pregnancy, birth and post. As a Mother, of a beautiful little girl, my birthing story is beautifully mine and always will be. I will always cherish my experience and know first hand how I can serve better than those without the knowledge needed to help progress safely and effectively. I am trained in Spinning Babies and have a background in the fitness industry as a trainer and coach. I have a deep knowledge and understanding of the body and mind from the inside out. My promise to you is to support your birthing experience because it will always be beautifully yours forever.
Not only am I certified as a Breastfeeding Counselor but I have first hand experience of my own as I nursed my own daughter for 26 months. My goal is to always do all I can and support the mothers, babies and partners at all cost, judgment free. No matter the circumstances, I am on your team and will do all I can to support.
I have experience in all styles of birth, positioning, medicated births, natural births. Every birth plan and story is unique and customized towards your goals.
As a Postpartum Doula my goal is to jump right in as another team member to the entire family. My support is to serve all members of the family and help make the transition of the baby as smooth as possible. As a Mother we sometimes wish we had another set of arms, a pair of hands that knows the priority of what needs to be done next to make the day flow smoother. My goal is to not take over but support as a knowledgeable assistant to mom and family. Bringing life to this World is the joyous of times!! I am there to help you celebrate your greatest achievements, do what’s needed and bring smiles and laughter to your days.
Birth is the smallest of magnificent things and the greatest of little ones. For me as a Doula, each one is as ordinary and most magical as the sunrise. It is quite familiar yet different as each and every breaking day.
